482 Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa
Allows Australian employers to sponsor overseas workers to fill nominated skilled positions when they cannot find a suitably skilled Australian worker to fill the job.
Whilst not the only option it is the most common Visa utilised.
Work
Visa holders can work in Australia in their nominated occupation.Salary
Employers must pay the overseas worker a market salary rate (min $70K), ensuring they are paid the same as Australian workers in similar roles.Travel
It permits the visa holder to travel in and out of Australia as often as they like until the visa expires.Family Inclusion
Visa holders can include family members (spouses and children) in their application, allowing them to live, work, and study in Australia.Visa Duration
The visa can be used for up to 4 years.Pathway to Permanent Residency
After 2 years of working on this visa, the worker can progress to the Permanent Residency pathway.Work for Sponsor Only
The visa holder is restricted to working for the sponsoring employer in the nominated occupation.
If they wish to change employers, the new employer must also be approved to sponsor them.
